Ok i've had a stab at creating gorilla faces. I need them to me almost comical but scary so the face needs to have room for lots of dynamics and expressions.

I've been sketching some ideas for a gorilla out and none of them have been too goo. I think i'll look at some cartoons to get an idea of how artists tend to draw them.

All of these faces give and outline of what the model will need to look like. Their face's are almost like skills which I can build on in my drawings to make look more scary

The two characters are going to interact with each other so to make this story/short film/advert more effective i'm going to try and create very different characters. In this case i'm attempting to make the Gorilla look angry and depressed and even scary with the small girl cute and darling in comparisson. Gorillaz already springs to mind for references to create a scary gorilla as these seen in the cemetary scene in their music video 'Clint Eastwood'. In that video lots of Gorillas rose from the earth and generally looked pissed off.

Ok, so i've come up with an idea for a short sketch. The sketch involves only two of the characters so i'll spend some time researching and creating them. The first character is a young girl who as described in the brief wants to be a Gorilla. So in my sketch i'll have her acting as a Gorilla to satisfy this part of the brief.

I'm aiming to create two characters, rig them, texture and animate them to a story. I've got a few ideas where the characters are talking to each other- i need to keep the story simple and short as i don't want it taking too much time- time that could be spent creating a better model!
